Notifications continuously makes you aware that what exactly is going on in social media. As a result you can aroused and excited to have a look in it thus creating an addiction for it.
- Limit Your Own Self: fix a timer in your wrist of your mobile phone to set a boundary on the time you are spending in your social media. The selection of the time limit relies on the extent of your addiction. As soon you reach your time limit be mentally strong and do not be allured to spend some more time in social media.
- Look for a New Hobby: When you try to move on from the social media, you may fine ample amount of free time with yourself. This is the time you can engage yourself in some kind of activity like playing a flute, singing, dancing, drawing, beat-boxing, reading books etc. you can also enhance your existing skills or try to learn some new.
- Pass more time with your closed ones:Rather than being updated with your family and friends virtually with the help of a screen, spend your time with them in real and make memories. Also, it is always not necessary to make your private life a pubic one by taking selfies and posting them in your social media accounts.
- Handle Social Media as a Treat: You may not purchase a coffee daily or do nail art on your nails every week, but you may gift yourself with all these when you feel you are worthy of it. So, think about social media in the same way: provide yourself with screen time only when you think you are rightfully worthy of it. If you handle social media in this way, then it might change your thoughts about social media.
