Controlling your fellow mates if you are standing a step above them, as a team leader, is a bit over-whelming. Not only does that mean you have a stronger say among all, your mates look up to you for the correct sanctioning, that too includes being one among them so that they won’t feel left out while doing the job. Though being a team leader sounds a bit hard, it’s a high-end job to do so uplift your own self confidence. There are various factors you have to keep in mind. - Learn to have strong vocals: Being a team leader is at big strata. Thus, it means that you need to have a strong vocal so that your fellow mates do not have a miscommunication. Never be over assertive. You don’t want your team mates to complete the job because they are afraid of you, but because you’ve lead them well to conclusion.
- Correct Distribution of work: Never put a heavy load on one and let the others go free. The distribution of work should be unbiased and the portions that should be allotted should be done in accordance to their field of expertise.
- Do the harder tasks yourself: Always keep the harder tasks for yourself. You have a better experience than others therefore you were made their leader. Have the self confidence and know you can do the tougher tasks.
- Never be Partial: Partiality is something that is a no no. It falls under the work ethics to show impartiality or no favoritism to all.
- Know Your Team: Listening to their problems, aspirations, experiences, issues are mandatory. A one to one knowledge about each gets you going smoothly from the start.
- Having a Crisp Behavior: Professional communication is key. Talk.
- Never think twice before asking for help: You being a team leader should never keep you away from asking for help. You too are in the learning procedure at every step. Be humble, ask.
- Awareness: Get down to the grass roots and working amongst your fellow workers. In that manner, you can assume the difficulties and the situations that they are facing and improve on thus.
- Put time in the Correct Work: Strategically workings are mandatory. Allotting specific timings to each sector should be done in a dignified manner so as to complete the whole project in time.
- Reward Your Fellow Workers: The good jobs ought to be upheld, so should the workers who did those. Rewarding them through appreciations and petite gifts can be done. With that, learning from the mistakes are to be upheld.
